Over 2.5M addresses have registered on Ethereum since May

More than 2.5 million new addresses have registered on the Ethereum blockchain since the beginning of May 2021.

The researchers also paid attention to the growth of the bitcoin network. They found that the largest number of new wallets appeared in January-April. During this period, the number of BTC addresses increased by more than 1.5 million.

On Ethereum, transactional activity has been weakening since the beginning of the summer. By the end of June, the network, on average, processed about 1 million transactions per day. This trend was associated with a decrease in trading volume in the DeFi and NFT markets.

In parallel, the ETH hash rate collapsed to 477 terahesh per second (TH/s) amid pressure on miners in China. The growth of network indicators resumed in August. This week, the network hash rate has skyrocketed to an all-time high. Now it exceeds 715 TH/s.

The transactional activity also began to increase, which indicates an improvement in user sentiment. According to EtherScan, the average daily number of transactions on September 14 reached 1.268 million.
