The infamous crypto entrepreneur, the co-founder of the Ethereum project Virgil Griffith, violated the terms of the pledge and was again behind bars. According to reports, the man was caught trying to access his account on the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange.
The decision to change the measure of pre-trial detention was made by US District Judge Kevin Kastel. The case file states that Griffith tried to "get" to his crypto-savings back in May, but law enforcement officers became aware of this incident only now.
It is worth recalling that the Ethereum developer is suspected of conspiring to circumvent sanctions with North Korea. If the prosecution proves his guilt, the man faces up to 20 years in prison.
Earlier, the New York court did not satisfy the motion of ETH developer Virgil Griffith to drop all charges.
