Coinbase Takes Steps to Expand Its Presence in Europe

Popular crypto exchange platform Coinbase intends to expand in Europe, registering in Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and other countries.

Coinbase VP Nana Murugesan said in a recent interview with Bloomberg that the company has welcomed its first employee in Switzerland. The business is already registered in the UK, Ireland, and Germany.

Murugesan mentioned that the company's goal is to offer retail and institutional products in the areas. According to him, its like an existential priority for Coinbase to realize their mission by increasing expansion efforts.

Earlier this month, Coinbase cut 18% of its global staff. As the crypto winter hit hard on crypto companies, other exchanges including Gemini, BlockFi, and Crypto.com, also announced cuts.

Currently, the total crypto market cap stands at $853 bln, nearly 2 T down from November 2021. Bitcoin trades at around $19,100 and Ether at $1,000.
