The oldest European cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp opened deposits for the EURt stablecoin from Tether secured in euros 1: 1 amid great customer demand.
The exchange will add EURt / EUR and EURt / USD to the listing.
“Access to EURt will save customers in the euro area time and money without losing their purchasing power,” said Michael Widmar, product director at Bitstamp.
European users of the exchange will be able to trade, deposit, and transfer funds without the need for USD-pegged stablecoins.
Bitstamp has established a 90% discount on trading commissions for transactions with EURt and other fiat-stablecoin pairs by the end of the year.
On July 21, Bitstamp also announced the appointment of Robert Zagotta as the head of the American division. Previously, for three years, the top manager held the position of commercial director of the Kraken bitcoin exchange, before that - the CEO of CME Group.
We will remind, in May, Bitstamp announced its intention to strengthen its presence in the US market.
